SÁCH MĂC MÔN

Buenas Dias Amigos,   This week was another fast one, so this one might be short. I never really know because I don't plan these, I just kind of go. So, with that said, let's go an an adventure of unknown length together. WEEEEEEE!   So first off, the Elder who messed up his ankle is fine. It's not broken, just a pretty bad sprain. He was stuck in the apartment for most of the week, but now he's out on crutches doing what he can.    We taught an investigator this week and it went really well. He's at a turning point in his life and is ready to sincerely listen. We're going back this week, and I'm excited to see how it goes.    Wow, this was a short adventure. Nothing else out of the ordinary really happened this week. It was a good one, just not much to write home about. Hope everything is good back home for all of y'all, and I'll try to be more interesting next week. Love,  Elder Garner

Time is Relative

Hello. Is it me you're looking for? This week went by crazy fast, so this will probably be a bit of a shorter one. Starting off on a bummer, our investigator's baptism is postponed for a bit. He's still super into everything, but he has some life stuff to work out before that can happen. It could be awhile, so I'll keep y'all posted. We found a superbowl ring at CAM on Tuesday. We aren't sure if it's real, but it said it was from the 1994 cowboys. Unfortunately before we could take a picture or do anything, one of the people working there took it and said she was taking it to the higher ups. So no Ebay money for us. We have a new Elder in the District! His name is Elder Oh and he's been out five months. There's actually a video about him and his family on the Gospel media app called "family is one big experiment" or something like that. He's great, and he's a magician! He even had a show in Vegas before his mission, ...

Ghana and tires and bikes, oh my!

Dear newly-weds, not-so-newly-weds, and not-weds,  For those who don't know MY BROTHER IS NOW MARRIED! Make sure you send Kenn Todd Garner and his wonderful wife Sophia some love this week. I'll include their address, Credit card numbers, and Social security numbers at the bottom of the email to make sure you know exactly how to get in touch with them!  Joking aside, I'm super happy for both of them and it still is a weird thought to think there's a new member of the family, but I know we're all glad to have her. Especially knowing that families can be together forever, I know they will have a long and wonderful time with each other.  As for my less-life-event-filled week, the day after my last email we set a date for baptism with our investigator from Ghana! We had no plans for that this week but we were meeting with him and we both felt prompted to ask him and he was immediately on board. The member we had with us started to explain how wonderful of a ...

Where'd His Bones Go

The district celebrating the 4th on the 5th Dear Patriots and Not-so-Patriots,   I won't lie, this was the toughest week so far. However, that does not mean there wasn't a lot of good. I'll try my best to summarize.  On Monday we had dinner with a couple who is returning to Church after being inactive for a long time. We also practiced teaching the first lesson on them, which was good because I got to teach in a less stressful environment. They're super nice and we're going back every week to teach the next lesson. Elder Lindsay was so happy because he's been trying to get in touch with them the entire time he's been here, so that was really good.   The next few days are where it was really rough. There was good, obviously, but we pretty much did nothing but knock for the rest of the week, and had no success. No one signed up for dinner except for Friday and Saturday, so we pretty much didn't eat until we got home on all those days. The ...

I'm Fine, Mom

Dear concerned parents and family, This has been an interesting week, for three reasons. First: In each Church we go to, there is someone who is assigned to help us do missionary work in the area, known as a Ward Mission Leader. One of ours is named Robert Doty, and he worked for SpaceX for 4 and a half years as a recovery engineer for the landing rockets. He invited us over for dinner the other day and showed us all of the cool space stuff he has, including pieces of several rockets that made it into space and then exploded when they attempted to land. He has tons of videos of failed rockets, and the explosions are glorious. He says you can find the videos online, so I recommend looking them up. Also, if you watched when they launched the cars into space, he was in charge of the console, so his voice is the one you hear in the video when it launches.  Second: Houston weather is extremely bipolar. We were out walking on a really hot day with a blue sky. Next thing we k...
