The sweet family that texted the picture to us. Some church members saw these guys in Walmart  and texted us their picture He got a Spiderman piƱata in his birthday box The condition of his birthday box when it arrived Elder Lindsay fixing the bike There were lots of problems with Elder Garner's bike this week, they finally had to trade it in for a new bike and on the first day with the new bike he got two popped tires from metal in the road A fun burger joint they tried out last zone pictures before transfers

The Sweet Life of Garner and Lindsay

Salve omnes, This week went by super fast, but there was a lot of interesting stuff that happened along the way, so time this week has been extra weird. First off, it's still hot, but I think I covered that pretty well last week, so I'll leave it at that. We had a ton go on with our investigator this week. I haven't talked about him in awhile, so I'll give a quick review before the quiz: he's been investigating for awhile and is a teenager. We meet with him pretty regularly and we're working with him to get things moving soon. Anyways, whenever we meet with him we go to a small dock at a pond near his house. On Thursday as we were talking, we saw a kid on his bike going around the pond. We didn't think much of it until he rode down to the dock and just got off the bike and stood next to us. I thought he was just waiting on some friends to meet him there, so we just kind of ignored him at first. Then he just started cutting into our conversation to sa...

Through The Fire and Flames

Image
Hello friends, family, and maybe a couple strangers, I was going to just put the lyrics to "Through the Fire and Flames" instead of telling you about my week, but I can't really remember any of them, so I guess I'll tell you what happened. On Saturday we were out pretty much the whole day, and it was 100° but felt like 109° (that's in Fahrenheit for my non-American friends. I'm not literally boiling out here.) So we've basically been biking through fire. And flames. Yup. Did I mention that it's hot? We had to take a break under a tree to avoid getting heat stroke one day and something wonderful happened. We were next to a pond, and on the other side of the pond all the ducks were also sitting under a tree. Then one of them laughed. Just a straight up laugh. ...

AP Physics With Prof Garner

Hey there Delilah,  What's it like in New York City? But seriously, is anything new happening in NYC? I haven't been for awhile and I know quite few of y'all live around there, so don't leave me hanging. Anyways, this week was good! We were very busy with lessons and meetings, so I've got a good amount to share this week. As Newton's third law teaches us, every action has an equal but opposite reaction, which describes a lot of this week. I mean that in the best way, because everything pretty much balanced itself out. For example: We taught a lesson with a couple and it went well! We had a really good discussion on different interpretations of scripture and how we can use words of Prophets to help us understand. The equal and opposite reaction, however, was that we learned at the end of the lesson that the husband was leaving town and wasn't going to be back until the end of October! That means that both Elder Lindsay and I will proba...
