Ghana and tires and bikes, oh my!

Dear newly-weds, not-so-newly-weds, and not-weds,

For those who don't know MY BROTHER IS NOW MARRIED! Make sure you send Kenn Todd Garner and his wonderful wife Sophia some love this week. I'll include their address, Credit card numbers, and Social security numbers at the bottom of the email to make sure you know exactly how to get in touch with them!

Joking aside, I'm super happy for both of them and it still is a weird thought to think there's a new member of the family, but I know we're all glad to have her. Especially knowing that families can be together forever, I know they will have a long and wonderful time with each other.

As for my less-life-event-filled week, the day after my last email we set a date for baptism with our investigator from Ghana! We had no plans for that this week but we were meeting with him and we both felt prompted to ask him and he was immediately on board. The member we had with us started to explain how wonderful of a choice this was, and our investigator interrupted him mid-sentence and said: "Stop explaining. Baptize me." He's extremely solid and he promised us that he is not going to back out and will do what he can to be ready.

Other than that, one of the other most eventful things this week was that I popped my back tire. There was just a woodchip sticking out in the middle of the road, and it just fizzled out on the way home. That really stinks because walking in our area takes about an hour to get anywhere, and that's just if we go about a third of the way out. We already got it fixed, so that's all good, but we couldn't do very much on Sunday without my bike.

Speaking of bikes, before that happened, we were biking A TON this week. For at least three days this week, we biked over 20 miles, so I am muy cansado. Being in a bike area is definitely getting me in shape, though, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I don't have much else this week, but this is the end of the first transfer, so things should be different next week.

Love y'all,
Elder Garner
