Important News

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know that as of two days ago, I have returned from my mission. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it while I was out, which is why my emails stopped, but I was facing some intense depression when it came to missionary work. After trying to push through it for a while, the leaders of the mission and the counselors I was speaking to said that it would probably be best for me to stop doing full time missionary work. That being said, I do plan on continuing my mission in the fork of a service mission.

For those who don't know, a service mission is where you stay at home and in the evenings and weekends you basically live normal life. During the week, however, you go do service at different places, like food banks and family history centers. This will be good because I will get a break throughout the week, but I will still be able to help people which is what I primarily enjoyed about the mission.

In the mean time, I am in Georgia with my family and will be back in Orem in the beginning of November. My service mission has not started yet and it will probably be a few weeks until it does. It's strange to be back home right, but I know this was the right decision and I look forward to what the future holds.

I really excited to see a lot of you again, especially those who have finished their missions while I've been out. For those who emailed me, I'm sorry I rarely replied, but I hope you know that your emails meant a lot to me.

Sincerely,
Derick Garner
