Guess who's back. Back again.

Hello people I am now slightly closer to and farther from in age,

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 21.

Not really, everything still feels pretty much the same. I think my birthday has actually been one of the most mundane days on my mission. I do appreciate all of the birthday wishes, though! It's nice to be reminded that people actually remember I exist. Just kidding, I know I'm just a figment of your imagination.

So as some may have noticed, I didn't send out an email last week. That's because I was getting transferred to a new area! It was pretty unexpected, so packing up and getting ready to go kind of took up all my time that day. So, I'll give you a quick summary of the previous week.

Title: Another Bike Bites the Dust

The zone's reaction
to my popped tires
Summary: My last week in Northpointe and Telge was filled with bike trouble. First, the rod holding my back wheel onto the bike literally exploded, so bye-bye rear wheel. Then we spent the next day waiting for another set of missionaries to get us a new bike, which we didn't get until about 5 pm. Then the next day, a little piece of metal popped BOTH my tires at once (keep in mind this was the new bike), so we spent the rest of the day getting that fixed. Then the next morning we discovered that our bike pump was too worn down to fill up the new tires, so we spent a good portion of the day getting that sorted out. Finally on Saturday we had one full day without a bike breaking. Then we didn't ride them Sunday, and I got transferred Tuesday morning.

THE END

Well, now onto this week. I am now in the Woodlands, which is probably the richest part of all the Houston area. Houses here are either huge or have a ton of land. There are a bunch of celebrities who own houses here, and there is a house that is on it's own little island with a giant brick wall around the entire perimeter.

Also, guess what? I'M IN A CAR. Now instead of getting run over, I get to run bikers over! But in all seriousness, it's been nice to not be drenched in sweat wherever I go. I do miss the exercise from riding bike, though, because I lost a good amount of weight. Now I'm in a car being fed by wealthy people, so I don't think I'll be able to keep that up.

Also, my new companion is named Elder Hooton, and he's been on his mission for 23 months, so he's almost done. He's from Alaska, so hearing about his life back home is really fun. It's killing him that he's missing the beginning of moose season right now. We get a long pretty well, we just don't have much in common, so we're both trying our best to find what we do.

As for what happened during the week, I've pretty much just been getting to know the area and the people. We don't have much going on right now, so we're just trying to get the ball rolling.

I think that's all I've got for ya today, I'll try to avoid missing weeks in the future, because typing this one took awhile.

Seasons greetings,
Elder Garner
