First Full Week
Good morning/afternoon/evening/night everyone,
It's been a weird week, but mostly good. Time at the MTC is really weird. It feels like I've been gone forever but each day goes by really fast. I love my district and I'm going to miss them a lot when I leave, but being stuck on this Campus is making me a bit stir crazy, so I'm excited to go back into the world. Teaching has a bit of a weird feeling to it here since I know that most of our "Investigators" are members, but it's becoming more natural and they're good actors, so the situations feel pretty real. I'm definitely way more comfortable talking to strangers than I was just a bit over a week ago, which I really like.
The district is great. Our teachers- Brother Huber and Sister Villarreal- are great at pushing us to improve but also making us be in a fun environment. It's really weird, though, that I'm closer in age to Sister Villarreal than any of the missionaries in my district. We all did choir for the devotional together which was fun. The beginning of the week started super rough and I just wanted to be done, but Elder Fischer had a really intense heart to heart with me that has made me more encouraged than ever to get through this. Just moments like that make me know that I will love these people forever, and I will definitely do what I can to see them sometime again in the future. I have a love/hate relationship with Elder Foster, because he's a fantastic, super nice person who loves music like I do, but his favorite Disney movie is Mary Poppins, so I don't know if he can be redeemed. Sister Mason has a good sense of humor and is easy to talk to. Sister Stahle clearly cares, and whenever we are in the gym, my antics crack her up. Sister Keawe brings a lot of Hawaiian energy, AKA fun vibes. Sister Cummard makes us all laugh with her, you can also tell that she is so compassionate she has a really hard time not hugging us after district pray
That's most of what I have to say for this week. It's been a lot, so I'm sure I've already forgotten some other big things, but I'm just moving forward.
Love you all,
Elder Garner
Elder Garner ran into few friends this week who sent us pictures!
